Built by an advisor who lived the pain.
Transparensea didn't start as a software idea. It started as eighteen years of FSCA audits, broken provider portals, late-night spreadsheets and client promises that the existing tools made harder than they should be.
Why this exists
The platforms South African advisors live in — Iress XPLAN, Astute, Elite Wealth — were built for large institutions, not for the independent practitioner trying to deliver good advice without a team of administrators. They are modular, complicated, and priced accordingly.
Transparensea takes the opposite stance: opinionated, complete, and beautiful. One source of truth. Compliance built into the data layer rather than bolted on as a document store. Every tool feeding the same engine.
The philosophy
- No modules. Medical, investments, group benefits, estate, compliance — one view.
- Compliance is calculated, not collected.
- Beautiful, fast, and built specifically for South Africa.
- Advisors should get from client problem to compliant advice without thinking about software.
Where it goes next
Phase 1 is the founder's own advisory practice. Phase 2 opens the platform to other independent SA advisors and small firms. Beyond that: an advisor-supervised robo-advisor for the R200k–R1m segment that currently costs advisors disproportionate time — same CFR engine, simpler client-facing surface, advisor still the responsible FSP under FAIS.
